EDF units are constructed from plastics. However as
EDF units produce high temperatures this can have adverse
effects on power outputs not to mention motor and ESC
problems due to overheating. It can cause loss of power
or damage to these components. Some manufacturers have
added 'Alloy rings' into the EDF unit to help deal with
these issues but now, Lander Technology has designed
their new 68mm unit specifically taking this issue to
mind.
The whole shroud (including the tail pipe) is constructed
from CNC cut Aluminum. This means the whole EDF unit
acts as one large heatsink keeping the motor much cooler
and increasing performance to its maximum. The 2848
4370KV Brushless Motor is factory installed having been
fitted using thermal grease between the motor and shroud.
(Thermal Grease is the material normally used in computer
CPU Heatsink manufacturer).
Suitable For single EDF Jets with Flying Weight of between
900g - 1300g & Twin EDF Jet with Flying Weight 1,800
- 2300g with 3S (11.1V) Battery Packs. Models like GWS
EDF Jets and the like will get a massive power boost
with this EDF unit! In fact our new Panther uses the
very same unit!
