maneuverability, and dependable design that you have come to expect.


GOOD NEWS for TREX OWNERS!!!
As the HURRICANE 550 is designed with the AUW of less than 2kg,
You can also use your existing 3 Cell Lipo Packs and connect them
in series to fly the HURRICANE as well. Just use 2 packs of your existing 3S Lipos
and connect them in series.

WHY HURRICANE 550?
As more and more 500/600 size EP helicopters are being introduced into the
market, GAUI took the cutting edge initiative by introducing a model that is
half the flying weight of the conventional 600 size helicopters.
By having the weight of only half as light as other 600 size models, you can
actually save your battery investment by using only 3S Lipo Batteries instead of
having to invest in larger packs! That is the reason why GAUI design team works around the
economy of battery management by using what was left from the previous 400 size EP Helicopers -
BY USING ONLY 3 CELLS! Series them and VOILA!

Why do we wait for so long? The Hurricane 550 was first introduced into the RC market last November. Being a new helicopter model, we have waited long enough to allow all bugs to be sorted out and dealt with. The latest version saw some earlier bugs being solved by the GAUI team designers and the long awaited final version of Hurricane 550 is now being distributed worldwide. The earlier version saw the Pinion Gear worn down very fast. As the Hurricane 550ep has 2 level gear box designs, the first level gear set needs to handle very high rpm thus wearing the copper gears under high alpha loads. When the pinion gear wears down, it will damage the Front Main Gear. Solution : Copper Pinion is now replaced with a Steel Pinion Improved one-way bearing. The previous version uses a 6mm one-way bearing. The final version now uses a 8mm one-way bearing.
