MOUNTING
TIPS FOR G2217/16
onto SNIPER 3D / SUPER ZOOM
|
All REVOX G2 Motors comes
with Back Mounting Prop Adaptor. Some may find
them not useful but it is not often the case.
The purpose of back-mount prop adaptor is for
mounting the motor onto a model that requires
firewall mounting. They are specially useful
for Profile models such as SNIPER 3D / Hacker
Super Zoom / Airfoilz etc with Motor mounting
which is cut into the fuselage.
To mount the REVOX G2 Motor into such "Firewall"
mounting, simply mount the cross radial mount
using the counter-sunk screw first. Using the
radial cross mount, position the motor onto
the firewall and mark out the 4 holes. We recommend
using Self Tapping screw, hence by marking the
4 holes, you just need to use a 1mm drill to
engrave a pilot hole (about 1mm deep) for the
tapping screws to be inserted and tighten itself
as you screw the cross radial mount onto the
firewall.
As you may notice the original shaft placement
gets in the way as you mount the motor onto
the firewall, use a 2mm metal rod, heat the
tip of the metal rod and melt the internal foam
deep enough to make clearance for the original
shaft placement to sit through nicely onto the
firewall.
Next, mount the Back-Mount prop adaptor for
your propellers. As you may pleasantly discover,
the back-mount prop adaptor actually comes with
4 long counter-sunk screws that match perfectly
onto the prop-mount. Before you mount the propeller
as per normally you would, we suggest you power-up
the model and do a full throttle check on the
prop adaptor to ensure there's no wobbling before
you mount the prop.

***IMPORTANT***
Make sure your prop is mounted right at the
dead centre, if the motor wobbles with the prop,
there will be a high chances that your propeller
is not mounted at the dead centre where it should
be wobble-free, or your prop is off-balance.
Get a prop balancer if you need to. For APC
Props, they usually have a few hub-collars which
you can use to match the diameter of the prop
adaptor, eliminating all possible gaps that
causes the wobbling.
